It started around the dinner table
The name NERVE & Thread came from a simple idea: create graphic designs that would probably get on someone’s nerves. Slightly offensive, a little inappropriate, or just the sort of thing you’re thinking but probably shouldn’t say out loud.
For years, that idea took shape over dinners with friends. Somewhere between the drinks, the stories, and the things we probably shouldn’t have said quite so loudly, we started keeping notes. Everyone contributed, writing down the funny things that came out of our tipsy, chosen-family dinners.
Those notes became a growing collection of ideas, inside jokes, and “that needs to go on a shirt” moments. Eventually, I decided it was time to put the dream into motion. And here we are.
What matters to us
Honesty.
We want to be straightforward about what we offer and build a company people can feel good about buying from. No exaggerated promises, just a genuine commitment to offering a quality product.
Fit and feel.
A good joke can get your attention, but the clothing should make you want to wear it again. We care about flattering fits, great-feeling fabric, and attention to stitching and construction.
Humor and connection.
This brand began with chosen family being themselves around a dinner table. We want to keep that warmth, individuality, and slightly questionable sense of humor at its heart.
